Don’t toss your existing devices, transform them! IGEL’s Universal Desktop Converter (UDC) allows you to capitalize on your current investment by transforming your existing PC or laptop to an efficient endpoint device. Take it a step further and secure your investment by using IGEL thin clients – just like UNC Healthcare did.

Since 2015, UNC Health Care in North Carolina had been preparing for a Citrix VDI roll-out. They needed to identify the right thin client that would support this deployment as well as provide a consistent user experience. They were looking for a management solution that provided mobility for their physicians, in addition to a device that could integrate seamlessly with their current Citrix VDI initiative.

At the Citrix Synergy event in Orlando, FL, the UNC team first learned about IGEL. After speaking with peers and with IGEL themselves, they left the event with a desire to pursue IGEL for their thin clients and software solution offerings. But there was one slight problem: several UNC locations already had thin clients installed from other manufacturers. In order to find a solution (and the perfect fit), they hosted a “bake-off” between thin clients to determine the best solution.
